Can you trust this AGG Software discount?

Safety & Legitimacy

Yes. The code runs through AGG Software’s own store and you receive a genuine key from the publisher.

No crack or keygen

You download the same installer AGG Software publishes and unlock it with a real license key. Nothing is patched or repackaged.

The publisher’s own checkout

Orders go through PayProGlobal, which AGG Software names as its authorized reseller in its published refund policy. This is not a grey-market key shop.

The publisher has been trading since 1999

The changelog, the copyright notices and the August 2026 release of build 804 all point to a company still shipping, not an abandoned brand.

Refundable, but read the conditions

There is a 14-day money-back guarantee, and it’s narrower than most.

How well does USB HID Logger handle real devices?

In-Depth Review & Key Features

The thing that makes this worth $90 rather than an afternoon of Python is the parser. It ships already configured for HID reports, so a barcode scanner or a bench scale turns into named variables you can map straight to spreadsheet columns, and that decoding step is the part most people underestimate. Where it gets awkward is the edition split. Almost everything the product page advertises, ODBC, OPC, DDE, direct Excel writes, lives in the export plugins, and export plugins are Enterprise only.

Buy USB HID Logger Standard and what you have is a competent file logger for one device. The interface is also plainly from an earlier era of Windows software, which matters less than it sounds once the program settles into running as a background service.

The main features

  • Pre-configured HID parser: Nothing to set up. You pick your device from a list and start getting decoded values instead of raw bytes.
  • Several devices at once, each with its own rules: Enterprise logs from an unlimited number of HIDs simultaneously, and every device can carry different logging and export settings.
  • Real-time export to where the data actually needs to go: Keystrokes into any Windows application, direct OLE writes into specific Excel cells, ODBC to MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle or Access, plus OPC DA, OPC UA and DDE server modes.
  • Windows service mode: It starts with the operating system before anyone logs in and keeps running after they log off, which is the whole point on an unattended bench or shop-floor PC.
  • Event handling: A reading crossing a threshold you set can fire an email, a Telegram or Slack message, or an SMS.

The good and the not-so-good

PROS
  • The HID parser is already built and configured, so you get named values out of a scanner or scale without writing any code.
  • Service mode means logging survives reboots and logouts, which matters on unattended machines.
  • The license is perpetual, and the product is still being maintained.
CONS
  • Five of the most useful plugins carry a “Professional” suffix and need a separate $45 to $50 license on top of Enterprise.

Questions people ask before buying

FAQ

Is this a one-time payment or a subscription?

One-time. AGG Software’s licenses are perpetual and never expire. What expires is the update subscription: 12 months of free updates and new versions from the purchase date, after which the software keeps running on the last version you were entitled to.

Can I get a refund if it doesn’t work with my device?

Within 14 days, and only under specific conditions. AGG Software considers a refund only if the product doesn’t operate correctly on your PC, you have to contact technical support and follow their instructions first, and refunds are refused outright once the activation code has been used. A signed Letter of Destruction is also required. Test with the trial, and don’t activate the key until you’re sure.

Does USB HID Logger run on Windows 11?

AGG Software’s site says yes, listing Windows 2000 through Windows 11 (2022) including Server editions on x86 and x64. The PDF manual printed in June 2026 tells a different story and stops at Windows 10 (2019). If you’re on a current Windows 11 build, ask sales to confirm before you pay.

How many computers does one license cover?

One. AGG Software licenses per computer or server, not per site or per company.

Is there a free trial, and what are its limits?

Yes, and the published limits contradict each other. The buy page FAQ says the trial can’t save your work and stops after thirty minutes, requiring a restart.

Should you buy it?

Final Overview
9Expert Score
Very Good

If you need readings from a USB HID instrument to land in a database, a spreadsheet or an OPC client without anyone retyping them, $189 is a fair price for solving that. Buy Enterprise rather than Standard: the $99 you’d save on Standard removes every export path, which is usually the reason people came looking in the first place. Skip it if your scanner already types into Excel in keyboard-wedge mode and you don’t need timestamps, filtering or a database. And go in knowing that 10% off a $210 tool is $21, so treat the code as a small bonus rather than the reason to buy.
