What is Beacon Pines?
You play two roles at once. One is Luka, a twelve-year-old deer working out why the crops around his town keep failing and who the people in hazmat suits are. The other is the person reading Luka’s story, from a book that addresses you directly.
The hook is the charms. You find gold charms with single words engraved on them and slot one into a blank at fixed turning points. Different word, different branch. When a branch dead-ends you flip back and try another, so nothing is ever lost.

Yes, once. It appeared on 26 December 2025 during Epic’s holiday mystery giveaway, but the window was 24 hours and most people missed it. This is its first full seven-day run, so check your library before assuming you need to claim it again.
How long does Beacon Pines take to finish?
About six hours. The developers put it at five to seven depending on pace. You do not need to replay from the start to see other endings, because the game lets you jump back to any earlier turning point and take a different branch from there.
Can I play Beacon Pines on Mac or Linux?
