Epic is running a developer promotion on Vanakan, a $4.99 text adventure set in sixth-century Armenia. The claim window shuts on Monday 28 September at 2:00 PM ET, and because this sits outside the Thursday rotation there was no week of notice. Below is how to claim it, what the game actually is, and where else you can get it.

What is Vanakan?
About the game
This is interactive fiction, not a game with moving parts. You read a scene, look at a still illustration of the location, and pick from the options given. Those picks steer the priest Tadevos toward or away from his goal and shape the political outcome around him. Steam lists several endings. The developers state on the Steam page that generative AI tools produced the game’s images.

There is no verdict to give here. Vanakan has no OpenCritic or Metacritic entry, and Steam lists two user reviews with no score. Claim it if you keep your library on Epic. If not, the Steam version is already free with no deadline.
