Virustotal reports 12/69 in the current installer malicious/suspect. They are also pirating FFMPEG GPLv3 DLLs by illegally distributing them in a closed source program that is completely incompatible with the GPLv3 license.
Also the statement:
“ThunderSoft Blu-ray Ripper is an easy-to-use and powerful Blu-ray ripper software that can rip and convert Blu-ray to lossless MKV and MP4 video formats.” No such thing as “lossless MKV and MP4 video formats.” maybe they are trying and failing to say “that can rip and convert Blu-ray data losslessly to MKV and MP4 video formats” i.e. it does not re-encode the data but copies it from the Blu-ray container to the MKV or MP4 containers.
There is no mention of DRM protection handling or defeating so it probably does not handle DRM protected retail Blu-rays but home made Blu-rays or pirated Blu-ray discs with DRM already removed… either way I’m not installing this with all the potential malware embedded within it and the fact that I don’t have or want Blu-ray media.

Most Chinese-made software sucks. But I find Thundersoft products, quality-wise, pretty good. The other software manufacturer which I like is Wondershare.
Anyway, just leave the Trojan as it is. Without it, you will not be able to rip a Blu-ray or Dvd.
Unlike a virus or worm, Trojan malware cannot replicate itself or self-execute. It requires specific and deliberate action from the user.
Hope that explains why a ripper comes with a Trojan.
What perverted advice! Trojans are MALWARE and do malicious things if there is a trojan and not just a suspected trojan the file MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO EXECUTE as it could do almost anything allowed by the execution rights level. It can be more destructive than a virus as it does not have to replicate itself to spread so could disable the entire system if it was programmed to!

Never mind the trojan. Allow the installation to take place. After registering the app, get rid of the trojan. Also use your firewall to prevent the executable from calling home.
