For compatible S-Log3 footage, the plug-in also provides Cine EI exposure adjustments, giving editors more flexibility before grading. Hardware acceleration delivers the best playback performance, although some 4:2:2 formats and high-resolution clips may still rely on software decoding or require more powerful hardware for smooth real-time editing.

It is a subscription. A license runs for one year from first activation and can be extended. nablet does not state whether it renews automatically, so check the order page before you pay.
Can I get a refund if it does not work with my footage?
No. nablet states plainly that no refunds are possible. That is exactly why the demo build exists: link your real clips, check playback on your hardware, then buy.
How many computers can one license cover?
One. Each seat is tied to a single computer, but from version 2025.11 you can deactivate a seat and reactivate it on a different machine using your activation code in the nablet AMA Plugin Manager. Multi-seat licenses are available if you need more than one at once.
Does it work with XAVC HS (H.265) footage?
No. XAVC HS HEVC operating points are outside this plug-in’s scope; you need the separate nablet HEVC AMA Plug-in for that. Sony AVC proxies are handled here directly, but HEVC proxies also need the HEVC plug-in.
Will my old .key license file still work?
It depends on when you bought it. Key files purchased in 2025 expire on 31 December 2027, those bought in 2024 expire on 31 December 2026, and anything older has already expired. New-style licenses will not run on plug-in versions before 2025.11, so do not overwrite a working install until you have confirmed which license you hold.
Do I need to do anything special before installing?
Yes, stop Avid’s background services first. The plug-in will not install while they are running, and you restart them once setup finishes. Installation also updates any previous nablet XAVC S version and installs the AMA Plugin Manager.
Can I export XAVC S files back out of Media Composer
Yes, through AMA File Export, in either XAVC S or generic MP4 AVC 4:2:0. One catch worth knowing: the generic MP4 profile and AAC audio are Windows-only, so on macOS you are limited to XAVC S profiles with PCM stereo audio.
