How well does Proxy-Cheap work?
Proxy-Cheap’s real strength is its price ladder. The volume tiers reward bulk buyers hard, and pay-as-you-go on rotating residential means you never pay for a month you didn’t use. The 7-day paid trials on static residential ($1.99/week) and datacenter IPv4 ($1.13/week) are a cheap way to test before you commit. Where it gets messy is the website itself. The same product can show two or three different “starting” prices depending on which page you’re on, and the published SLA has no actual uptime numbers in it. The service seems solid. The documentation, less so.

Key features
- Seven proxy types under one account, so you can mix rotating residential for scraping with static ISP IPs for long login sessions.
- HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 support (availability varies by product), plus username/password or IP allowlist authentication.
- Session control on rotating residential: keep the same exit IP with a session ID and TTL, or switch to random IP mode.
- A free Proxy Manager extension for Chrome and Firefox for one-click connect and disconnect.
- REST API with webhooks for ordering proxies from your own scripts.
What we think
Which Proxy-Cheap proxy should you buy?
| Proxy type | Billed | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rotating Residential | Per GB | Large-scale public-web scraping, localized price checks | Best rate needs 51 GB+ |
| Static Residential (ISP) | Per IP / month | Account logins and long sessions | Price differs across site pages |
| Static Residential IPv6 | Per IP / month | Bulk static IPs on IPv6-ready sites | Useless on IPv4-only targets |
| Datacenter IPv4 | Per IP / month | High-throughput crawls | Easier for sites to flag than residential |
| Datacenter IPv6 | Per IP / month | Cheapest bulk jobs | IPv6-only destinations |
| Static Mobile | Per proxy | App testing, social media | No built-in discount |
| Rotating Mobile | Per GB | Social and app work needing carrier IPs | $5.99/GB at every tier |
Questions people ask about Proxy-Cheap
Does Proxy-Cheap have a free trial?
No. Proxy-Cheap’s Help Center states it doesn’t give out free test proxies. What it does offer is a paid 7-day trial: $1.99/week for static residential and $1.13/week for datacenter IPv4. Some coupon sites advertise a “free 7-day trial, no card”, which doesn’t match Proxy-Cheap’s own policy.
Can I get a refund from Proxy-Cheap?
Sometimes. Bandwidth plans are fully refundable if you’ve used no more than 20% of the data, and time-based plans within 3 days of purchase while still active. Auto-renewals must be disputed within 24 hours. Leftover wallet balance is normally only refundable if you close your account.
Why does my proxy show the wrong country?
Usually it’s the checker, not the proxy. Different sites use different IP-location databases, and Proxy-Cheap uses MaxMind as its reference. If MaxMind shows a different location than you ordered, send support the proxy ID.
Can I use Proxy-Cheap SOCKS5 proxies in Chrome?
Not through the browser itself. Chrome and other Chromium browsers don’t support SOCKS5 proxies, and Proxy-Cheap’s extension only handles HTTP proxies with username/password login. Use SwitchyOmega or a dedicated app instead.
