ReadyNAS Vault prices with the code applied
How to apply the ReadyNAS Vault code at signup
- Pick ReadyNAS Home, Business or Enterprise above and click on the Copy button to access the checkout page.
- Paste [CODE] into the promo or coupon field during checkout.
- Check the total before confirming. It should read $5, $18 or $27 per month depending on the plan you chose.
- Back on your NAS, enable Vault from the ReadyNAS admin console, then sign in with the same credentials to start the first backup.

Is the ReadyNAS Vault coupon legit?
Yes. The code applies at ElephantDrive’s own checkout, and ElephantDrive is the company that actually builds and bills ReadyNAS Vault under licence from NETGEAR.
One thing to know first: there are no refunds
ElephantDrive’s published refund policy states it does not refund subscribers except for billing errors, and cancelling mid-cycle does not refund the unused portion. That is exactly why the free trial matters here.
Official publisher billing
You pay ElephantDrive directly through the ReadyNAS Vault store. This is not a resold key or a grey-market account, and your card details never pass through WinningPC
Your data is encrypted before it leaves the house
Files are locked with AES 256-bit encryption on your device, then moved over a 128-bit SSL channel. Personal encryption keys are available if you would rather hold them yourself.
Try before the money moves
There is a free-forever 2 GB account and a 30-day free window on any paid plan, so you can test a real backup and a real restore before a charge appears.
What ReadyNAS Vault does well, and where it shows its age
The reason to pick this over generic cloud storage is that it lives inside the NAS. You enable it from the ReadyNAS admin console and it backs up directly, with no need to map a share to a PC and leave that PC running. The versioning is the underrated part: archive control keeps copies of files you delete, and old versions are listed by date and time, which turns a backup into something you can actually roll back after a ransomware hit or a bad sync.

Where it shows its age is the desktop client. It leans on Java, the publisher’s own download and install page still points at that requirement, and there is now a support article walking people from the ReadyNAS Vault desktop app over to ElephantDrive’s own client. NETGEAR has also confirmed that ReadyNAS systems and software are end-of-life, so the hardware this integrates with is not getting firmware work any more. The service still runs and still bills, but you are buying into a mature product, not an actively developed one.
Key features
- Backs up straight from the ReadyNAS itself, with no PC acting as a middleman.
- Archive control and version history let you pull back deleted files and older revisions by date and time, the way a proper backup and restore tool should.
- The Everywhere folder keeps a set of files in sync between machines, so you can start on the office desktop and finish on the laptop at home.
- Browser access to everything, so you can pull a file down on a machine with no client installed.
- Share a folder with colleagues, or publish a password-protected link instead of emailing attachments around.
What we think
Which ReadyNAS Vault plan should you buy?
| Plan | With code | Devices | Sub-accounts | Max storage | Support channel |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Home | $5 / mo | 10 | 3 | 10,000 GB | Scheduled chat |
| Business | $18 / mo | 25 | Starts at 10 | 50,000 GB | Scheduled phone |
| Enterprise | $27 / mo | 100+ | Starts at 20 | Unlimited | Priority |
Is there a cheaper way to back up a NAS?
| Service | Cost for about 1 TB | NAS backup | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ReadyNAS Vault Home (with code) | $5 / month | Built into ReadyNAS | ReadyNAS owners who want it to just work |
| ElephantDrive | Varies by plan | QNAP, Synology, WD, TerraMaster | The same platform on a non-NETGEAR NAS |
| Backblaze B2 | Around $6 / month per TB | Via S3-compatible tools | DIY setups paying only for what is stored |
| IDrive | Around $70 for 5 TB in year one | Native NAS support | Cheapest per terabyte at larger volumes |
| Free 2 GB Vault tier or a local USB copy | $0 | Local only | Small document sets, or an on-site second copy |
Be honest with yourself about volume before you sign up. At 1,000 GB the discounted Home plan is priced sensibly. Past two or three terabytes the maths turns against it, because every extra 1,000 GB costs another $10 at the undiscounted rate, while per-terabyte services like Backblaze B2 get relatively cheaper as you scale. We track discounts across the whole category on our cloud backup deals page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free version of ReadyNAS Vault?
Yes. There is a free-forever 2 GB account, and every paid subscription starts with 30 days at no charge.
How many devices and users does each plan cover?
Home covers 10 devices and 3 sub-accounts, Business covers 25 devices and starts at 10 sub-accounts, and Enterprise covers 100+ devices starting at 20 sub-accounts.
What happens if I go over my storage allowance?
You are billed for the extra. Additional capacity is sold in 1,000 GB blocks at your plan’s rate, so $10 a month on Home, $20 on Business and $30 on Enterprise. Overage is calculated on measured usage rather than what is simply sitting in the account, which is a common source of confusion on the first bill.
Can I use it without a ReadyNAS?
Yes. There are desktop clients for Windows, macOS and Windows servers, plus mobile apps and browser access, so the subscription covers regular machines and external disks as well as the NAS.
Does it still work now that NETGEAR has discontinued ReadyNAS?
Yes. Vault is operated by ElephantDrive, not NETGEAR, and the service is still live and still selling subscriptions. What has stopped is the hardware side: NETGEAR lists ReadyNAS systems and software as end-of-life, which is arguably a reason to keep an off-site copy rather than a reason to skip one.
