Do the job but transform every page in the pdf into a picture file…!
Size of resulting file is 40 times the one you would get with a proper editing file software

Softdiv PDF Split and Merge v1.0
It works, but not as expected:
Merging PDFs converts each page of the PDF into a picture. In my case with Quality Medium, it blew up the filesize by factor 6,8x!
At the same time n the text quality got visible degraded.
I could not find any setting to change this behaviour.
Conclusion: If you can live with the resulting large filesize and the loss of the original PDF content it might be ok for you, but beware, that you lose the original content and structure of the merged PDFs! I assume Split works in the same destructive way (not tested).
