It is impossible for this giveaway to function under Windows Vista as the downloader provided (It’s not the installer) is linked for NT 6.1 or above and is NOT recognised as a valid Win32 executable under Vista AND the downloaded installer only contains 64bit executables so will NOT run under 32bit editions of Windows 7 to 10 AND the version of embedded chrome browser used is ancient in order to support ancient Windows 7… so will eventually be incompatible with youtube website when they depreciate unsupported chrome browser versions. Regarding updates to this you may be able to self-update the yt-dlp.exe in
C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\SoftOrbits\MP3 Downloader for Youtube\resources\app.asar.unpacked\node_modules\ffmpeg-static
by launching a cmd prompt in that folder and executing the command:
yt-dlp -U
and it will check with the github repository for a newer version and if found it will endeavour to update itself to the latest hopefully fixed version but personally I’d rather use a downloader that honours the FFMPEG license if it uses FFMPEG at all and has other uses and does not use an out of date insecure unsupported chrome engine and does not force installation into an insecure location.
