on the giveaway link provided there is a false statement:

The false statement is that we can object to the use of our e-mail address for advertising purpose ate ANY TIME. We cannot object BEFORE we are subscribed to their marketing list and receive at least one piece of spam email from them… only from then onwards can we object to the misuse of our e-mail address for advertising purposes. It is my understanding that each time we apply for another giveaway our previous objection to advertising emails is ignored and we are re-added to the advertising mailing list until we object again… These are the reasons why I don’t participate in ashampoo giveaways because of their abuse of our email addresses. And my resolve has been reinforced by their move to the so called ashampoo app adware license enforcement system on giveaways! Remember this is not their current version of this product but a version that is no longer sold and they are selling version 17
You’ll find they also steal FFMPEG binaries used to capture the screen and encode the data into compressed video or image files. It is installed into the users appadata\roaming subfolder which is designed only for DATA not executables and DLLs Ashampoo should know better than to steal GPLv3 open source programs and illegally distribute them in closed source commercial programs a pretend they authored the work by not giving attribution and using the legal LGPLv3 build of the program that was always available to them and would have been adequate for purpose. SO basically this is NOT a legal program as parts of it are pirated and used illegally.
whoops I missed the lesser in the ffmpeg.exe -L command probably due to seeing it missing in checks for so many other programs… My apologies Ashampoo they also do include the License.txt a copy of the LGPL text. Though I am not seeing any attribution saying prominently that the FFMPEG binaries are being used as per LGPLv3 Section 3:
“a) Give prominent notice with each copy of the object code that the
Library is used in it and that the Library and its use are
covered by this License.”
Hiding license.txt away within installation files in improper locations is NOT giving prominent notice by any ones description of the term prominent notice. It sould be within something like the About page which I cannot find anywhere… HELP just links to an online webpage with no about function tied to the program.
