Too bad Soft Orbits MP3 Downloader for Youtube v1 2022-10-21 just crashes out when trying to change the destination folder for saving music on one of my Windows 7 64 Pro computers, perhaps an argument with calls to Windows File Explorer.
Their in-program [ Contact Support ] button ‘does not allow sending links’, which I am not doing, so I’ll send a note to their email address: [ support @ softorbits. com ]
Soft Orbits MP3 Downloader for Youtube v1 2022-10-21 looks like a clone-ish of the interface layout of Abelssoft’s FREE YouTubeSongDownloader.
Soft Orbits MP3 Downloader for Youtube v1 2022-10-21 works well for basic one-track downloads for me otherwise, offering MP3, no quality choices, but they sound ok, or MP4 with resolution choices, but NO option to download both at once.
It nicely brought up albums for performers, no need to go find a playlist to put in the search bar, it even offers to [ Split tracks ( beta ) ] to deal with folks who upload an entire album/CD in one video ( oops, it split one song in half ! ).
maybe we can put a playlist link in the search bar to get a group of individual songs, I did not try – someone should try this.
It doesn’t seem to have a way to STOP an errant download ( I wanted songs, not videos, but I have to wait for the videos to download before I can go back and select the MP3 option instead ).
It downloaded MP3, even though it indicated MP4 in it’s [ Downloads ] window.
It’s player is a small letterbox ( ! ), so if we want to actually see the full frame, exit to play in anything external video player program.
The open folder icon in the [ Downloads ] window erratically fails to open the download folder.
After much crashing, when reloaded, it pops up a window [ Upgrade your free version – Buy Premium ], the [ x ] doesn’t work but there’s a [ Close ] button that works, so I then needed to re-[ Register ] with email and supplied code, then it started working again.
The MP3 has no tagging, no cover art, so if we want those, we need to re-open our downloads in yet another program, such as FREE Zortam Music Studio or FREE Picard Musicbrainz or FREE Media Human Music Converter ( which can also convert MP4 to MP3 ).
Regardless, music downloaders need constant updating because music sites constantly change their access protocols, so a lifetime of a stable program that only works now ( not that it works now ) is less important than a lifetime of constant updates, which alternative Abelssoft’s FREE YouTubeSongDownloader does, updating constantly, all FREE, to keep connected no matter how Google changes YouTube.
