The real upgrade over BytePlus Seedance 2.0 isn’t sharpness, it’s control. Doubling the ceiling to 30 seconds means a product walkthrough or a short story beat fits in one take instead of being stitched from three clips that never quite match. The edit mode is the bigger money-saver, though. Being able to swap a product, face, or background while keeping the original motion means fewer full re-rolls, and re-rolls are where token budgets quietly disappear. The trade-off is resolution: 2.0 goes up to 4K, while BytePlus’s own pages disagree on whether 2.5 tops out at 720p or 1080p. And this is a developer product first.
