I will no longer use this software, with the current system more sophisticated than this software, with 256GB RAM memory I don’t need this kind of software.
This software detected a trojan. do you still want to install it?
Don’t bother testing this app. There are a lot of better alternatives.
Oh, that’s too bad … no re-sizable display windows, can’t search, sort, select, export results of any scan, can’t control of preview what will happen or has happened with some some tasks or results.
Plus, it installs 4 scheduled tasks, and runs in the system tray without warning or control, as well as installing right-click menu additions without warning or control.
The offering I reviewed expires in 60 days, which is just an extended trial, and does not even include trial version of the tools in the main menu such as Privacy, Anti Virus, Password Manager, which bring us to language-unaware web pages, anyway, I’m not going to run it past the one day of test, but there’s no reason to expire the basic tools ever, all the features that require periodic updates, such as malware scanning, are not even operable anyway, just a request to ‘please purchase this enhancement’ advertising only.
Alternative utility programs are more sophisticated, more controllable, more through, and have free versions, or automatically revert to free versions at the end of any ‘pro’ license, that never expire: Wise, Glary, IObit, YL/WindowsUtilities/PCClean, and so on.
And, if we’re going to have to use FREE SysInternals AutoRuns and ProcessExplorer to clean up and toggle off any unintended, unpermissioned background and menu debris anyway, why not start with a best enhancement programs to begin with, such as the FREE alternatives listed above?
Aside from Iolo, this is programmed by “RealDefense LLC” and “Copyright \xA9 2022” and is claimed to be version 22.5.1.15, perhaps a cobbling together of subcontracted and purchased programming, but does not compare well to other programs listed above that are versioned anywhere from v5 to v15, so versioning is hardly meaningful outside their in-house nomenclature, apparently – no, this is not competitively aware or sophisticated.
I wish Iolo great success in reviewing the competition and making their programs better and better with each revision, but they are not there yet.

Hi Mr. Peter,
Could you please try again or check my screenshots above?
All functions are running well, which means I can use Privacy/Anti-virus/Password Manager,…
Privacy, Antivirus, and Password Manager all say [ Upgrade ] and do not function, only leading to a browser popup to purchase those features.
Perhaps anyone who’s computer had prior Iolo licenses inherits them, but my new install did not – maybe I have a prior install that was expired, who knows?
Thanks for letting us explore this and share.
.
Ah-hah, the download from within the email from Iolo is different by 6 KB smaller than the download from WinningPC, and the resulting installation is 7,716 KB smaller that the temp installation file called on by the WinningPC installer, and the resulting version of Iolo System Mechanic is older v22.3.3.175 NOT the newer v22.5.1.15 I originally tested, and it looks completely different, and does not match the presentation at WinningPC at all.
I actually like the Network and System security cleaner in the older v22.3.3.175, and may use it to help troubleshoot a sticky computer that can’t browse to Redbox.
I re-ran the WinningPC installer, it upgraded back from older v22.3.3.175 to newer v22.5.1.15, and again, it fails to show the features in the WinningPC example, instead showing Privacy, Antivirus, and Password Manager all saying [ Upgrade ] and they do not function, only leading to a browser popup to purchase those features.
And the neat features of Network and Security optimization are gone, nowhere to be found i the newer version.
So I’ll use older v22.3.3.175 for it’s Network and Security optimization features, and if it expires, I’ll delete it, if they work in ‘trial’ mode after installation, I might use them on occasion to tweak and fix networking and security.
Newer v22.5.1.15 has no value for me.
Crazy, eh?
Thanks for letting us explore this and share.
.
Oh, you’re right. I installed System Mechanic Ultimate Defense (30 days trial license) on my PC before installing the Pro version so I can use all functions without any problem.
Does it stop working after the 60 day period?
It will stop working after 60 days; you have to purchase a new license or uninstall it.
