Note because this is a closed source program it is also illegally distributing Open Source GPLv3 licensed build of FFMPEG binaries. The developer NEEDS to obtain or build the LGPLv3 licensed edition of FFMPEG binaries to be able to legally distribute and use the FFMPEG.EXE FFPROBE.EXE binaries within his closed source product, AND give attribution to FFMPEG.ORG team and supply a copy of the LGPLv3 license.
Is this just a yt-dlp_x86.exe refresh to latest version at time of new build and a minor version bump to differentiate it or is there some actual coding revamp in the GUI?
As far as I know, the GUI hasn’t changed much — it has remained largely the same for quite a while because it’s already simple and user-friendly.
Most updates focus on the downloading engine and compatibility, especially to keep up with changes on platforms like YouTube and other streaming sites. So it’s more about maintaining functionality and stability rather than a major GUI revamp.
so save your time and if youtube software countermeasures against pirating their content just open an admin command prompt in the installation folder and run the following command:
yt-dlp_x86.exe -U
and let it go and update itself to the latest version available and avoid having to wait for a new giveaway to install over the top, save some SSD erase/write cycles:-)

What’s new? Is just a yt-dlp_x86.exe refresh to latest build at time of creation or has any of the programs code been changed as we can always update yt-dlp_x86.exe on our own without worrying about getting a new lifetime license.
