There appears to be no editing in continuos dictation mode which uses windows built in voice recognition… but does NOT use windows built in editing… so it’s not value added to the built in free dictation system which does include voice editing! Plus all the Vosk offline models are US ENglish there are no ENGLISH English language data files! And Vosk offline model accepts many media types BUT converts them to an uncompressed temporary WAV file which can end up as MASSIVE as it uses a legal LGPLv3 licensed copy of FFMPEG.EXE to do the media conversion… thankfully it does delete the WAV file upon completion but wouldn’t it be more efficient to buffer the WAV in RAM and keep it for changing the Vosk model as the default vosk model is tiny and not accurate even with texan vocals which I believe is US English… and there are a few different US ENglish models that can be downloaded and installed… as is it has to reconvert and re-write hundreds of megabytes of temp WAV file for each attempt to convert and see which model works best.
Voskrunner.exe is only single threaded and uses just one logical cores worth of CPU when processing which renders it comparatively slow considering the wasted CPU resources of unused cores and also the GUI calling the voskrunner is rendered catatonic and non responding while the conversion processing is taking place which I assume is a programming over-site? I tam trying using the pre-installed french model to try and convert the same Texan English just to see what it does and it’s been ages and no results so far… I may have to end task using task manager as I’m going out soon! had to end the task and then had to go into task manger to end the voskrunner.exe process manually as it sat there consuming around 12% CPU grinding away oblivious about what happened to its parent process.

Thank you for the portable version in the email link, for which the key indeed worked.
I did check the version that could not be activated which is “2.6”, whereas the one from the emailed link and the Giveaway installer above are “3.1”, which I think solves the mystery and probably needs correction.

There is nothing wrong with my PC, which has the latest Windows 10 updates and I have to date not failed to get anything installed.
The only “correct installer (latest version)” I have is the one I got above and chose the “portable” option, which apparently will not work, but on trying the “installer”, it promptly got activated, as you also say.
Could you please check if the key works for the portable version, which I would have preferred as it does for the installer, because here it does not and yes, my PC is OK and has dozens of portable programs as well installed?
